The difference between harnesses designed for women

Women's climbing harnesses are specifically designed to accommodate the female body's shape and proportions, offering a better fit, comfort, and performance whilst climbing . These harnesses are engineered considering the differences in hip-to-waist ratios, leg loop sizes, rise (distance between the waist belt and leg loops), and other anatomical variations commonly found in women.

Fit and Design

They are often tailored to fit a narrower waist and larger hips commonly found in many women. The waist belts are contoured to follow the natural curves of the female body, providing a more comfortable and secure fit.

Padding

These harnesses may have additional padding in specific areas such as the waistbelt and leg loops, providing enhanced comfort during prolonged hanging or suspension.

Adjustability

As with all harnesses there is a range of  different options when it comes to adjustabilty.  Fixed leg loops, for a lighter harness mostly used for indoors, sports, and shorter-pitched trad climbing.  Adjustable leg loops, a slightly heavier harness.  Great for alpine and longer routes.
