Trad climbing shoes are built for the long haul. If you're jamming cracks, slab climbing, or spending a full day on multi-pitch routes, you need a shoe that can handle it and keep your feet from screaming at you.

Unlike aggressive sport climbing shoes designed for short, powerful routes, trad shoes prioritise comfort and versatility. They're flatter in profile, softer in construction, and built to be worn for hours at a time without wanting to throw them off a cliff. A well-fitted trad shoe will still perform on technical terrain; they just won't punish you for wearing them all day.

What to look for in a trad shoe:
- Flat or low-volume last for all-day comfort
- Durable rand for crack protection
- Stiffer midsole for edging and smearing on varied terrain
- Commonly a lace-up fit that lets you dial in precision across different foot shapes.

Whether you're new to trad climbing or adding a dedicated pair to your kit, getting the right shoe makes a genuine difference on the rock.
